Infectious diseases thrive in resource-limited settings — and the world needs more professionals equipped to combat them. This online MPH specialisation (18–24 months, 138 ECTS) from JLI Switzerland covers tropical diseases, outbreak investigation, surveillance, and global health response. Graduates work with WHO, MSF, CDC, tropical disease research institutes, and humanitarian health organisations.
The programme covers the epidemiology, diagnosis, prevention, and management of major tropical diseases including malaria, dengue, leishmaniasis, schistosomiasis, and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). Students develop expertise in disease vector control, travel medicine, tropical health surveillance, immunisation programmes, and field epidemiology in resource-limited settings. Core public health modules in biostatistics, health planning, environmental health, and health systems complement the tropical medicine specialisation, preparing graduates for both technical and managerial responsibilities.
