Malnutrition — in all its forms — remains one of the world’s most pressing health challenges. This online MPH (18–24 months, 138 ECTS) from JLI Switzerland covers nutritional epidemiology, food security, community nutrition programmes, and public health policy. Graduates pursue careers with WHO, WFP, UNICEF, national nutrition programmes, NGOs, and food industry organisations.
The programme addresses the double burden of malnutrition, covering both undernutrition — stunting, wasting, and micronutrient deficiencies — and overnutrition, including obesity, diabetes, and diet-related non-communicable diseases. Students gain skills in dietary assessment methods, nutrition surveillance, food systems analysis, and the design and evaluation of community and national-level nutrition interventions. Core public health modules in epidemiology, biostatistics, health planning, and environmental health provide the foundational knowledge needed to contextualise nutrition within broader health systems. The research dissertation enables graduates to contribute applied nutritional public health research relevant to their target population or geographic focus.

• Bachelor’s degree in any life sciences related field
