Cancer prevention is a global public health priority — and this specialised MPH puts you at the forefront. This online programme (18–24 months, 138 ECTS) from JLI Switzerland covers cancer epidemiology, screening programmes, immunisation, health promotion, and population health strategies. Graduates pursue careers in cancer control programmes, WHO, national health ministries, NGOs, and oncology research.
The programme is built on a robust core of public health competencies including community medicine, biostatistics, environmental health, mental health, and health planning, all contextualised within oncology prevention frameworks. Specialised modules address the epidemiology of major cancers, carcinogen exposure assessment, tobacco control policy, and the design and evaluation of national cancer screening programmes. Students also explore the link between preventable risk factors — diet, physical activity, alcohol, and infection — and cancer burden, gaining the tools to design effective public health interventions. The dissertation phase enables students to investigate a preventive oncology research question under expert supervision.
