Pandemics and emerging infections have reminded the world just how critical infectious disease expertise is. This online MPH (18–24 months, 138 ECTS) from JLI Switzerland covers epidemiology, outbreak response, antimicrobial resistance, immunisation, and global health security. Graduates pursue high-impact careers at WHO, CDC, national health agencies, research institutes, and international health NGOs.
The curriculum provides deep training in infectious disease epidemiology, vector-borne diseases, surveillance system design, vaccine preventable diseases, and the public health response to outbreaks and pandemics — from preparedness planning through to post-event evaluation. Students also study antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention and control, laboratory diagnostics in public health, and global health security frameworks including the International Health Regulations. Core modules in biostatistics, environmental health, health planning, and community medicine ensure graduates bring both technical and operational capability to infectious disease management roles. A supervised research dissertation completes the programme, enabling graduates to contribute to the infectious disease knowledge base in a topic of direct professional significance.
