Chronic diseases driven by lifestyle factors are the world’s leading cause of death — and lifestyle medicine is the response. This online MPH specialisation (18–24 months, 138 ECTS) from JLI Switzerland covers behaviour change, physical activity, nutrition, sleep medicine, and health coaching in population contexts. Graduates lead wellness programmes, corporate health initiatives, and chronic disease prevention strategies globally.
The programme integrates lifestyle medicine principles with core public health disciplines including epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, community medicine, and mental health — preparing graduates to address the multi-factorial causes of lifestyle-related diseases at population level. Students explore the evidence base for lifestyle interventions in managing and reversing conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and cardiovascular disease, as well as the policy and structural enablers of healthy living. The programme also covers health communication, community engagement, and workplace wellness programme design, providing graduates with practical tools for implementation. A research dissertation enables students to investigate a lifestyle medicine intervention or policy topic with direct public health impact.

• Bachelor’s degree in any life sciences related field
e.g., Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Nursing, MBBS, Pharmacy, Public Health, or related disciplines.
