From dengue to Ebola, tropical diseases demand a prepared and skilled global health workforce. This online Advanced PG Diploma (up to 24 months, 60 ECTS) from JLI Switzerland covers tropical disease management, disease surveillance systems, and immunisation programme design. Graduates work in humanitarian missions, WHO, national disease surveillance programmes, and global health NGOs.
The curriculum provides in-depth training in the epidemiology and clinical management of major tropical infections — malaria, tuberculosis, helminthiases, arboviral diseases, and other neglected tropical diseases — alongside modules on field epidemiology, outbreak investigation, and emergency response. Students develop practical skills in immunisation programme planning and management, cold chain logistics, vaccine safety monitoring, and community mobilisation for vaccination campaigns. Surveillance module content covers integrated disease surveillance and response (IDSR), early warning systems, and international reporting obligations under the International Health Regulations.
